Pop-Up Handbag

I made this card for a friend who is mad about handbags, I'm more of a shoe person myself lol. I've also used it for the Arty Girlz Challenge which this week is 'Circles'. The pop-up is created using a template from Lakeland, the papers are from Rob & Bob Studio and the handbag image is from Pink Petticoat.

Tilda Fat Page

I am the proud owner of my very 1st Tilda, so I thought I would join the Tilda Fat Page Swap on CSF :o) My page also qualifies for the My Time to Craft Challenge which this week is 'Things with Wings' and Papertake Weekly Challenge which this week is a colour challenge 'Blue & Green'. I hope the new owner of my fat page will be pleased with it.

Altered Matchbox

I joined an altered matchbox swap on http://lotstodo.myfreeforum.org/ which sounded intriguing. This is my 1st attempt at altering a matchbox and I wasn't really sure what I was doing but I 'tried' and this is what I created. It also fits in nicely with this weeks Sunday Stampers challenge (http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/) which for week #5 is 'Time'. This is not one of my best pics but inside the box there is a tiny 'shrink plastic' pocket watch.

My Time to Craft Challenge

The challenge on http://www.mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/this week was 'Lace it up'. Well my 1st thought was 'I don't 'do' lace' I searched through my stash and I didn't have anything even resembling lace, it's just not me. Anyway I had an idea to 'lace' my card together (I hope this is allowed) so that is what I did. I've used another gorgeous Tilda (kindly stamped for me by Laurensmum) coloured with pearlescent paint. The papers are all from K&Co 'Sparkly Sweet' range, some K&Co alphabet stickers, satin ribbon, a daisy punch, some brads and eyelets and not forgetting the obligatory sparkly gems.

My 1st fat book page

This is my very 1st fat book page! I never wanted to start up another addiction so gave all the fat page swaps a wide berth but, a friend on Crafting Corner Forum (http://z6.invisionfree.com/Crafting_Corner/index.php?act=idx) has been ill for some time so the members have organised a fat book for her, well I couldn't refuse. I am also entering this into The Sunday Stampers wk 4 challenge (http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20Sunday%20Stampers) which this week is 'Watch the birdy' - to incorporate birds into your project. Firstly I splodged green and blue Twinkling H2o's onto a craft mat with a paint brush then I spritzed a piece of white paper with water and and 'swooshed' (is that a real word?) it around to make a marbled background. I covered a bear mat with the marbled paper. Using a gorgeous UM Peacock stamp from Dimension Fourth and broken china distress ink pad I stamped onto another piece of the background paper. I highlighted the spots with green H2o's and the body with blue H2o's to give some definition. I glittered the body with clear glitter glue. I then mounted the stamped image onto a dark green card stock and placed onto the base. I added some green gems and some wool to the left side to finish it off. I also decorated the back with the same marbled background paper added some swirls using a HOTP stamp and broken china distress ink and then added a tag with a sentiment stamped on. Voila my 1st page done!

My 1st Tilda

Although I don't have any of my own Tilda's YET, my friend Andrea (Laurensmum) very kindly stamped me some to try out. Well I love her and will definately be purchasing some of my very own! I have used K&Co papers for the background and the heart and coloured Tilda with a Twinkling H2O's type paint. The letters are cut using a Sizzix decorative strip 'Wingo Zingo' on my Bug, I've added a bit of sparkle here and there and she's done.

Arty Girlz

The challenge on http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ this week was quite straight forward 'Green' - use green on your project. I decided to base the card on Beate's weekend sketch challenge #35 which can be seen here http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/category/weekend-sketch-challenge/. I have used K&Co papers from the Amy Butler range, the quote stamp is from a set I got from QVC in the clearence sale and a couple of large gems. I have also stamped a swirl at the bottom using VersaMark ink and a HOTP stamp but it dosen't show up too well on the photo.

3 in 1

I managed to incorporate 3 challenges into the card I'm sharing with you today! Daring Card Makers 'Oh so juicy'- Use lemon or orange colours, Paper Take Weekly 'Spring in your step' - Use a spring theme and finally Scrummy Stash Cafe. 'Get yourself inshape' - Focus your project on just 1 shape. To make the card I've used card and paper from DCWV, the image is from Pink Petticoat, the stamp is from HOTP and the ribbon is from American Crafts. I think it's a simple and sunny design, what do you think?

Altered Storage

The challenge set on Funky Fairy Blog this week is 'Storage'. The idea being you alter an everyday object, not that I drink Baileys everyday you understand, and use it for your craft stash. I have altered the Baileys tin (after drinking all the contents, but not on the same day lol) using Brenda Pinnick papers (I love all of her stuff), some pebo silk flowers, a small daisy punch and some decorative brads. Not sure what to store in it at the mo but I'm sure I'll find something :0))

Sunday Stamper #3

The challenge from Sunday Stamper this week was to decoupage a stamped image. I used a sketch from Beate's weekend sketch challenge #34 as the basis for the card. I stamped the sheep (Anita's) twice using black StayzOn then cut out the face from one of them and mounted it on top of the other with 3d foam pads. I mounted this onto black card and tied a white ribbon (American Crafts) to the left side of the mount. I embossed a piece of white card with the swirls cuttlebug folder and mounted this onto black card then wrapped a black velvet ribbon (American Crafts) around it. I punched a flower from black card and glued a white button on top and placed this on to the ribbon. I put three black eyelets onto a piece of white card and mounted this onto a A6 black card blank. I then mounted both the embossed piece and the stamped image on to the front of the card. Using clear glitter glue I highlighted the sheeps wool and the embossed swirls. I put clear glaze on to the face of the sheep.

New challenge blog!

Crafter Kate on Craft Swap Forum has set up a new challenge blog My time to craft challenge. There is to be a new challenge set every Monday. Today (11/02/08) is the first challenge which is to use newspaper on your project. Well I've sort of cheated, I made this ATC for a swap ages ago and never used it but saved it for another time, well I'm glad I did coz it fits the bill perfectly!

CPS #50

My addiction to the challenge blogs continues lol. Here is a card made using another FAB card sketch from http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/.
Paper & rub on from K&Co
Ribbon from American Crafts

Arty Girlz Challenge #20 'Frames'

This is my first attempt at an Arty Girls challenge, but won't be my last! The challenge this week is 'FRAMES', to incorporate a frame into the design. I needed one more Valentine card for a comission so decided to use this as my theme. Using a 5" square card I matted the red paper, then the heart paper on to the base card. I embossed a piece of silver card with the Cuttlebug swirls folder then cut out a frame. The frame was placed on to the card with 3d foam pads. I cut a heart shape from mountboard and covered it in red stickles, then using 3d foam again placed this ontop of the frame. I then stamped and heat embossed in silver 'I LOVE YOU' onto a strip of red card and stuck this to the card. I accented the heart and the sentiment with clear heart shaped gems.

Mojo #23

Another challenge card :-)) This sketch is from Poetic Artistry and the brief was to create a square card using sketch #23 (above). The card I created is for a young man's birthday.

Paper: Brenda Pinnick
Image: Pink Petticoat from the Doodle-icious CD
Ribbon: American Crafts
Ink: (to tint background of image) Tim Holtz Distress ink pad-old paper

Sunday Stampers Week #2

The challenge from http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/ this week is Monochrome, either black and white or black and cream.

I decided to use black and cream for a change. I used a sketch from http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/02/01/weekend-sketch-challenge-33/ as the basis for the card. Using a black Rangers archival ink pad I stamped 3 images from http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/ onto cream card and cut them out leaving a narrow border. I them mounted these onto a strip of black card. I hand cut a tag shape from cream card, punched a hole in the top, hand wrote 'for you' and threaded this on to a piece of cream satin ribbon. I tied the ribbon to the bottom of the strip of black card. Using a DL cream card and the Cuttlebug I embossed one half with the textile embossing folder. I then rubbed over the embossing with a black soot distress ink pad and inked around the edges of the card. Using DS tape I mounted the strip of black card to the centre of the cream card. Using a bow stamp from the morsels CD stamp set and black ink I stamped it 3 times to the left hand side of the card. Using clear glaze I highlighted the flowers on the stamped images and the 3 bows.

Scrummy Stash Cafe Challenge

The challenge from http://scrummystashcafe.blogspot.com/ this week is M is for Monogram, to design a project incorporating a large monogram.

I decided to try something a little different and make a 'shadow box Card', (instructions can be found at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/shadowboxcard.php). I used a Brenda Pinnick chipboard monogram and papers. I made the box in white card as per the instructions then covered the front and then the back panel with co-ordinating papers. I inked around the circle with a turquoise ink. I stuck a piece of ribbon behind the monogram and mounted it in the centre of the back panel with 3d foam pads. I punched a daisy from some paper and stuck this onto a silk pebo flower using a brad then stuck this to the top right side of the back panel. I stamped a swirl in turquoise under the monogram to 'ground' it. I tied a bow in co-ordinating ribbon and stuck this to the top left side of the front panel. I stuck some punched flowers to the top right side of the front panel and placed some clear gems in the centre of each flower. I mounted the happy birthday sticker on to card and glued this to the bottom of the front panel. I then stuck the front panel to the back panel with DS tape to finish the box.

Daring Carmakers Challenge

This weeks challenge on http://www.daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/ was to design a card using ONLY RED & WHITE. I love red but don't use it very often for some unknown reason. I had to go to the bottom of my paper pile to find some red paper, I've had it so long I can't even remember where it's from. I won't go into the usual explanation of how the card was made coz it's easy to work out from the pic.
